Focusing on Meditation…
Meditation is one of the best habits you can do for yourself. With benefits such as less stress and anxiety, better attention span and memory, positive feelings of loving-kindness, and more. The list goes on and on. All it takes is a little bit of effort. Regular meditation is safe and beneficial to anyone, at any age. What you need are some basic instructions, and a few minutes each day. Once you start, you’ll start to wonder why you had waited so long.
With many types of mediation to choose from, it can be as simple or as complicated as you’d like. I recommend starting simple, or better yet, attend a few classes to get a feel for it. It works best when done on a daily basis. To help with that there are apps, books, youtube videos; whichever you like. If you want to try a class of guided meditation, we are offering a special Kundalini session on Friday, June 21st at 7:30 pm. Kundalini is an amazing type of meditation that uses chanting and movements to help you heal from past trauma, and retrain your brain for happiness and bliss. The details are below.
Next week I will discuss some simple meditations you can do at home in your spare time. Once you know the basics, you’ll be better prepared to follow the meditation path of your choosing.

Michael is a board certified NY State Licensed Acupuncturist, who received his Masters Degree in Oriental Medicine from New York College of Health Professions. While in this program, he also specialized in Chinese Herbal Medicine.
