Enjoy our weekly wellness tip from Licensed Acupuncturist, Michael Savalli, from the office of Elizabeth Martin.
Small Changes, For Big Results…
If you’re like a lot of people, (myself included), you probably wait till something goes wrong with your health, before you look for ways to fix it. I mentioned last week, the importance of taking steps towards health maintenance, while you’re still in good health. This week I want to talk a little bit, about how to approach this seemingly daunting task.
When we try to do everything all at once, we often over-stress and do none of those things adequately. Taking your time and doing one thing at a time is the way to go. Gradual changes, stuck to over time, are a great way to make a lasting impact. For example, a friend of mine suggests trying swapping out one item in your diet for something healthier, then build on that week-to-week, day-to-day.
Changes, like most things, are best done in the proper amount. Too little, and it will take forever to reach your goal. Too much, and you will find it difficult to maintain. Everyone is different and in a different state of health. Find that sweet-spot in the middle that works for you, maintain the effort, and you will do a lot to improve your own health.
