Enjoy our weekly wellness tip from Licensed Acupuncturist, Michael Savalli, from the office of Elizabeth Martin.
Organs and Our Health
A big reason for TCM being so effective in treating and preventing many medical disorders is its ability to strengthen the functions of our internal organs. Through acupuncture, we can influence organ function via bioelectric pathways in the body. With diet and herbs, we can nourish and provide sustenance for these same organs. In the physical arts of TaiChi, and QiGong, the slow movements gently massage the inner organs and improve their function.
Most of us will go through each day hardly giving thought to our internal organs, but their function is a crucial factor determining our health and vitality. This can be tricky because we cannot see them, and we are often unaware of how they are doing. Obviously, a doctor can do tests; but TCM also has ways of determining your organ health. External signs, such as tongue and pulse diagnosis, are valuable tools for knowing the condition of our bodies insides.
A balanced diet is essential for our organs to stay nourished. Most of the food we eat comes from animal muscle. It’s logical, that eating fats and proteins found in animals muscles is most useful to our skeletal muscles and body fat. Organs are made of slightly different materials. Your body can convert some of these nutrients, but you may also need to supplement to give our organs the materials they need. So, it makes sense we should eat organ meats as well. For example, heart, liver, kidneys, etc. There are other ways to get those nutrients if you are vegetarian. But if you do eat meat, I recommend supplementing with an organ complex, such as Paleovalley Organ Complex.

Vibrational sound healing can be traced back from present-day trends to many ancient civilizations including India, Africa, Europe, and the Orient. The idea is to restore balance to the chakra system and clearing the blocked energy within ourselves. Sound healing is similar to reiki healing; It is a form of energy healing that allows your body to self-regulate and self heal.
Let the sounds vibrate through you to feel the power of self-preservation and healing.
