More Essential Oils for Fall – Lung and Large Intestine Health
The internal organs that dominate fall are the Lungs and Large Intestines. The lungs focus on taking in the new, with each breath; while the Large Intestines are in charge of releasing what we no longer need. Important themes for fall, and functions that can be assisted by the right essential oils.
Regarding the lungs; we see at this time aggravated allergies, chest congestion, plus cold and flu season. You can enhance your immune system, and clear the lungs, with oils such as Eucalyptus, Tea Tree, Sandalwood, Peppermint, and Rosemary.
We also associate dryness with the fall. If you suffer from dry skin, you can try making your own essential oils enhanced lotion. Starting with a plain lotion, add your choice of oil. Such as Geranium, Frankincense, Lavender, or Sandalwood.
To help the Large Intestines with eliminating waste, and their function of separating pure from impure, we have a few options. For constipation, we use oils like Fennel or Lavender. If diarrhea is the issue, try Geranium, Neroli, Sandalwood, or Cypress. One can also have “stuck” thoughts, or “mental constipation,” which is aided by scents of Peppermint, Rosemary, or Lemongrass.
