Enjoy our weekly wellness tip from Licensed Acupuncturist, Michael Savalli.
Fall marks the transition from the warm, yang energy of summer, towards to more cooler, yin energy months. We can look at fall as a time for letting go. Just as the leaves fall from the trees, we too can let go of the thoughts, feelings, and things that no longer serve us. We are reminded to do that at this time of year.
Fall is also a time of harvest, where we gather the fruits of this years labor. Wisely storing enough for the coming winter. Are there any projects you’ve been working on this past year? Now is a good time to complete them, or at least find a good stopping point. Allowing yourself time to rest, and reap the reward of satisfaction, from the progress you’ve made thus-far.
Another defining aspect of fall, is that of turning inward. Where summer was expansive, and bursting outward. That energy now begins to slow, and change course. Turning inward, back to its source. So too should we look more inward at this time. Being introspective, and self-reflective, but not clinging, as we’re reminded again of the healthy practice of letting go, and making room for the new. More on this next week.
