Year of the Earth Dog, 2018
February 16th marks the beginning of the Chinese New Year. We find ourselves leaving the year of the Rooster, and entering the year of the Dog. This holds many new and interesting astrological implications. Dogs, they say, are man’s best friend. Anyone who’s been lucky enough to know a few dogs would agree; they are an honest, loyal, and reliable partner and friend. Dogs are also social animals, enjoying the company of people, or forming packs with other dogs. So how do those qualities translate into what we can expect in the coming year?
The year of the dog may prove to be one of important movements in social justice, where many will find renewed devotion towards their fellow men and women. A year of the dog also holds important emphasis placed on communication. In business, there will be many opportunities to take advantage of, but one must beware of the stress and exhaustion of over-doing it, or risk ending like a dog who has run to exhaustion, or eat himself sick. Keep in mind this is also an earth year, (of the 5 elements), so that calls for more stability and conservation. In general, we hope this year will be filled with warmth, devotion, and friendliness; as is embodied by the creature from which it gets its name.
Happy Year of the Dog to all!
