Does Acupuncture Hurt?
At Hands on Acupuncture & Massage Therapy, P.C we pride ourselves in being pain-free. Acupuncture needles are very fine, and hair thin, they have a much thinner gauge than a hypodermic needle, the needle used when you get a shot or your blood drawn. At most you may feel a pinch, but if you communicate with your Acupuncturist he/she will make sure it is a pleasurable experience for you.
How Much Does It Cost?
The cost varies depending on treatment, modality, and whether or not your insurance covers. Treatment costs are kept on a reasonable scale to fit into your budget.
How Long Is The Appointment?
Generally an appointment is between 45-90 minutes depending on what you are getting treated for. More time is allowed for the initial evaluation so that the practitioner can give a proper diagnosis.
How Many Times Do I Need To Come Back?
Most conditions can be treated within 3-9 visits. Treatment protocol varies depending on duration and severity of a condition. Acupuncture is a physical medicine, each treatment builds on the next one, and some conditions may take time to be treated. Many patients come in for maintenance weekly or monthly even after symptoms have subsided for preventative care and wellness.
