January 25th, Enter The Year of the Metal Rat
Chinese New Year began Saturday, Jan. 25th. It’s based on a lunar calendar, which is why it is different from our western New Year. According to Chinese Astrology, there are 12 main phases, each represented by a particular animal. This is now the year of the Rat, which occurs every 12 years; more on that later. The Chinese also use the 5 elements or phases for a total of 60 distinct years in a cycle (5×12=60). 2020 corresponds to the element of metal, hence the year of the “Metal Rat”.
Just like western New Year, this is a time for leaving behind what no longer serves us, and setting new intentions for the coming year. The year of the Metal Rat foretells prosperity for almost all. It is a good time for founding and evolving plans. It is beneficial to show determination in goals, aspirations, and hobbies. It’s a great time to buy real estate or start a business if these things are in your plans. Think to invest in long term plans and progress what has been carefully planned. The Rat carries creative energy to manifest and fulfill. A time for you to create for your own life. The Rat likes cheese, nuts, jewelry, and opulent clothes. Also, look for the color red as an auspicious sign.
Metal creates and stores water, meaning productivity for metal industries (cars, machinery, information tech, advanced technology, cosmetics, and health…metal corresponds with the lungs, Large Intestines, the skin, nose, and sense of smell). It’s a good time to chase goals with confidence and determination. Be relentless through problems, difficulties, or failure. But not so much that you become unreasonable, inflexible, or stubborn. Beware of working to exhaustion. Practice sports for longevity and well-being. This benefits health reduces medical expenses and leads to better sleep and productivity.
The Rat brings luck to speculative activities and is the protector and bringer of prosperity. We at Hands-On with you a healthy and prosperous New Year. Remember, good luck is scared by doubt, so when it comes your way, seize it by the tail!

Crystal Bowl Sound Healing
Group Meditation
Sound healing is a form of meditation that is performed in a group where you lay on a yoga mat and let the sound transport you.
Sound healing has many benefits including:
- reducing stress and anxiety
- improves circulation
- deepens relaxation
- increases mental & emotional clarity.
- restores balance
Vibrational sound healing can be traced back from present-day trends to many ancient civilizations including India, Africa, Europe, and the Orient. The idea is to restore balance to the chakra system and clearing the blocked energy within ourselves. Sound healing is similar to reiki healing; It is a form of energy healing that allows your body to self-regulate and self heal.
Let the sounds vibrate through you to feel the power of self-preservation and healing.
